Bureau of State Security Government Civilian Service BOSS is a paramilitary organization which combines the duties of such services as MI5, the FBI, the CIA, the KGB and similar security institutions. The Bureau of State Security is a powerful arm of the government, for it is charged with conducting counter-espionage and anti sabotage investigations, suppressing revolutionary and terrorist organizations and maintaining the security of the state in general. Thus BOSS agents may be found in any governernment or civilian service, or in private business and industry. Boss is divided into a number of Directorates which serve various functions they are: Intelligence, Administration/Support, Operations, Science & Technology, Public Affairs, Clandestine Service, Law Enforcement and Human Resources. Each BOSS office/location will have personnel from these Directorates based on their current needs. Prefectures are areas of space made up of the Sectors surrounding Local Stargates. Any star system containing member planets of the Federated Suns will typically have a BOSS HQ located near the Government offices, though they may not be obvious. |
